Website Development Process
At
OnPoint, we have a web development process in place to ensure the
most efficient and cost-effective business relationship with our
clients. Our development process has three separate stages.
1. Consultation
We
believe that if you get the right people in a room at the same time you
can accomplish in weeks what would otherwise take several months or
years achieve. In our in-person initial consultation, the goal is to
learn about our client’s firm and to generate ideas of
how best to transform business components into a website solution.
2. Design & Development
OnPoint
provides clients with a price quote along with a Project Plan detailing
project components. Our price quotes are based on the size of the law
firm, the estimated time required to complete the project and the
services required.
Once
the Project Plan is approved,
clients sign and return it, along with the
first installment equal to 50% of the price quote for the project. Once
payment is received, we begin the process of creating an initial
template for the website. This is an interactive process in which the
client is involved to ensure the website will accurately reflect the
law firm's desired design and structure.
Once the design template is completed, we post it online and send our clients a link where they can review the website. The
next step in the development of the website involves laying out the
content using the approved design layout. At this point, our efforts are dedicated
to developing the website to completion.
Once the
project is completed, clients are provided with a link where they can
review the site before it is available on the Internet. This step
involves final testing of the project.
We will then
ask that our clients to sign off on the completed project. At sign-off,
the third payment is due. This payment consists of the final 50% of the
price quoted for the project.
3. Deployment
Once
the project is completed and uploaded onto the client’s web address, we
will continue to monitor the website’s performance. We will also
periodically make suggestions for improvements as new technology
becomes available. One year of text and PDF updates is included in the package (see above).
If the client elects to have OnPoint keep the substantive content on
the site current (ie. case summaries, articles) on an ongoing basis, we
discuss how we can best optimize this content to drive traffic to the
website.
